For the Chicago Bulls, today’s performance was worth the wait. Chicago spent all season looking forward to a playoff rematch against the Orlando Magic, the team that eliminated the Bulls last year in the second round. This year’s ECF is Chicago’s chance for revenge. And in Game 1, revenge was both sweet and spectacular. Playing a magnificent game with passion and precision, the Bulls embarrassed Orlando, 121-83, to open the four-of-seven-game series at the United Center. It was a loss that …

The Bulls lost the year before because a) Jordan wasn’t himself, b) lack of chemistry and c) lack of Rodman. They needed rebounds and a defensive inside presence. The Longley/Rodman combo worked good enough on the Bulls’ 3peat run. Chicago beat Orlando because they went single coverage on Shaq and Penny for the most part and shut their teammates down. The same would’ve happened to Grant.
With Horace, I see the Magic win maybe two games in this series at best. Outcome would be the same.

    That cause Grant got injured.

I dont disagree with that. The bulls came out with a fire that year and they probably would have won the series outright. I think Orlando could have got game 2 though. (judging from the first half). And maybe game 4. After that I would have taken the Bulls in game 5 and they probably wrap it up in 6. Our replacements for Grant were Jon Konkac and Donald Royal lol, not exactly guys you want starting. And Nick and 3D look out of shape in this video or maybe they were just that overmatched.

The Bulls ran Orlando into the ground. Especially in this game.

It was such vindication from 1995.. Jordan coming back but not fully-charged for the playoffs that year.. adding Rodman, Jordan getting back to great form, 72 wins, and a sweep. O’Neal would have to wait a few more years for his time.

  17. galacticinquisitor says:

“I don’t think Salley can dunk anymore”… BOOM

  18. TheRatedIX7 says:

You’re right Jordan had to cause Horace Grant was talkin’ shit that year I think. Revenge is sweet and for Chicago to sweep them like they did made it that much better. After that Shaq bailed and went to L.A.

Shaq left for the Lakers after this series didnt he?

  22. rederyboy2 says:

hey do u guys think if penny hardaway didnt have that injury do u think he could still be good?

  23. godzilla1077 says:

He would have been awesome. Basically Kobe plays a lot like Penny. So in essence, Orlando was basically the 3 peat Lakers if you really think about it.

  24. ompongawooh29 says:

of course .. by the way he played at that time he could be one of the best , he was just unlucky he got into a lot of injuries..

  25. quitmon says:

yeah without a doubt.i mean look at grant hill-he lost his prime years to a bum ankle that required 4 surgeries.chris webber,s career wasn,t the same after knee surgery.larry johnson,s bad back.the list goes on on .watch trcy mcgrady and kevin garnett this season.they both had knee surgery.i don,t thyink mcgrady will be the same after micro-fracture surgery.not sure about kg.
